Causes Of Night Sweats

it happens almost every night.
i could be sleeping naked and still get night sweats.
i wake up in the middle of the night freezing because my sheets are wet and cold…yea i know gross. i thought it might be cause i have nightmares but sometimes i dont have nightmares and still sweat like crazy.
why is this happening?
